Life of a PIC Microcontroller

We've shown you the arduous journey that your processor and video card went through to get to your doorstep. So we thought, why not go smaller? So we picked a smaller, underappreciated, and altogether very important device: the microcontroller. We decided to look at Microchip's PIC microcontroller for historic reasons, with apologies to the Atmel and Freescale fans out there (if you really wanted to see a different microcontroller series covered, contact us).

Click a country to zoom in. Click and drag a box to zoom a particular area. To zoom out, click Zoom Out, click a body of water, or right-click and choose Zoom Out. Mouse over points to get more information. See Help: Maps for more.

Microchip also has fabs in Tempe, Arizona and Puyallup, Washington (they are selling the latter) . We picked Digi-Key as the retailer because they are popular. A lot of minor steps are omitted for simplicity.
