The Big Processor Guide - Introduction

The Central Processing Unit is the "brain" of a computer. It does most of the heavy lifting, and is one of the most important components in a computer.

This guide will provide a reference to x86 AMD and Intel processors beginning just after the 486 days. Other architectures are excluded for the present, as are all products from other manufacturers. Keep checking back, and they may be added soon.

There is no need to read through this entire guide like a book, though you are of course free to do so if you like. Because it is built as something of a reference work, you may simply wish to jump to what interests you most. This guide is not organized in a specifically linear fashion, and attempting to read it linearly may or may not be quite a challenge. If you care to try, your feedback would be appreciated.
